Longest stretch between motorway junctions
Discussion
Ah yes, Preston to Lancaster, my old home-stretch, definitely a big gap. I think it's longer than the longest section up though Shap.
Strangely I was discussing this very thing with a colleague at lunch today - exciting lives we lead eh?!

The longest stretch between two junctions is the stretch between your penultimate junction and your home junction in the early hours of the morning after a very long journey when you're dog-tired and/or in desperate need of the toilet.

the longest gap always seems to be just after the junction you were meant to tun off at!

Hi Lo, those 2 junctions are 13 miles apart the same as the distance between 8 and 9 on the M20(maidstone-Ashford(kent) but the longest one I can think of is between 8 and 9 on the m11(Bishop Stortford to Duxford )at 15 miles.

Travelling east to west, M26 2a to m25 junction 6 is 18.5 miles, there is no exit between the two
Your right I was going to mention that one but I wasn't sure as I haven't got a map on me,and it's only westbound.
I was going to mention this. Seems a lot quicker to use the A20 and cut back on to the M25 at the Swanley round-a-bout.

I was heading northbound once and missed junction 9. Eventualy turned round an found myself heading south!!!! Turned round at junction 8 to head north.
In a truck limited to 56mph, what a plonker!!!
(but at least birchanger green services do a cracking kentucky!)
