*** FEBRUARY COMPETITION - WINNER ***
Discussion
Ok everybody the results are in.......
It's been another great competition, with lots of different interpretations of power. So well done to all and thanks for the entries. I particularly liked blondemoment's lovely sagaris, and 740i's F16 (?) but there can only be a top 3 so here goes.
The runners up are, LongQ's great power station shot. I'd not seen that one before yesterday, as soon as I saw it I really liked it, it's well composed and very atmospheric.
and I just loved the power of a burnout, so ThatPhilBrettGuy's picture from goodwood, just a great action shot.
But the winner is...
up-the-dubs. I've always loved this shot ever since it was posted here a few months ago. There's just a simplicity about it, especially the ways it's been cropped, and the fact that it would look good hung up on any wall. It almost looks like a painting (that's a compliment !!). It really is a great photograph, very well done.
Just another well done to everyone who entered both in the official entries and in the pre-thread .
So up-the-dubs, over to you for next months competition

Won by the one I would have chosen.
Thanks for your comments on my alternative power station rhubarb. The more I look at it the more I see some odd reflections which I will investigate as part of the learning curve. I was quite impressed with the way this came out. My input to the process was little more than parking the car, setting up a tripod and framing the shot. The metering system (Canon A1 from the early 80's) seemed to be using the shutter speed that my rough estimation suggested, more or less, so I let it get on with things.
If I ever manage to get the the results I want from the shot which was my intended entry I will post that as well.

Thanks guys! I'm a little bit stunned to be honest, but extremly pleased all the same . Some very kind comments. I feel like a non-photographer gobsheen crashing a party .
Wow. Hard luck to everyone else, there was some great shots there.
Ummm.. right, next month..... I'll have it up tomorrow evening to get a weekends run at it .
Anyone know the thread that had all the previous topics on it? I might have one but I'll sleep on it first.
Thanks again.
Brian.

Great shot mate. When I saw it I nearly hit the screen "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO". I thought it would do well . My process was ramping the car up a kerb (rush hour traffic wasn't happy about it), taking 4 photos and legging it. My first "Oo, there's a good photo there" moment. Really starting to enjoy this photography lark. Plus, back mountain biking for the summer, so expect landscapes galore .

Here you go: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=228594&f=109&h=0&hw=Competition or do a search for ANNUAL REVIEW. Its got a link to all the entries from last year, and since them we've had perfection and power.
