hey,

one of my bank cards is about to expire and my bank have sent me a new one.

do i need to change any direct debits which come out of this account to the new card number or is it ok as the direct debits are coming out of the account irrespective of what card number governs it?

sorry for what is really a bit of a numpty question, but it hasnt been explained to me and this is my first replacement card.

cheers

Debits are usually linked to the account rather than the card. If, however, you have the card "logged" at say Amazon, they will be aware of the expiry date & ask you to reconfirm the details.

Direct debits are based around account number and sort code, as long as neither of these has changed (which it shouldn't do for a change of card) you should be fine..
