If you fancy a private viewing of Nick Mason’s famous car collection, then you’ll need to get yourself down to London's Savoy Hotel on Sunday 13th May between 1800 and 2330.

Under auction is the opportunity for two people to be flown by Nick Mason in his private helicopter and be given a private tour of his world famous classic car collection in Gloucestershire. The prize includes lunch and a signed copy of his book ‘Into the Red: 22 Classic Cars That Shaped a Century’.

The item is one of a number of prizes going under the hammer at Dance Umbrella’s Spring at the Savoy event. The evening is described as a dazzling event at the Savoy Ballroom with some of the leading lights from the world of dance to raise money for Dance Umbrella’s Commissioning Fund. The charity promotes and protects the world of contemporary dance.

To find out how to book for Spring at the Savoy, contact: Hannah Hewitt, Dance Umbrella, 20 Chancellors Street, London. Call +44 (0)20 8741 4040 or email Hannah@danceumbrella.co.uk

Something a little different & quite desirable in a unique sort of way. AT- is this the sort of prize "that money can't buy" ? Maybe that would have made a good header !!

Got to hate 'Charity Auctions'....

Someone with more money than sense gets to 'win' something nice, all the rest of us mere mortals don't get a chance at the prize.

Would be better if it were £10 a ticket for an equal chance.

Still, stops any chance of us lowlifers mixing with the landed gentry.

Bogger, i'd really love to have the opportunity, and was going to enter if it was a £50 raffle despite the nature of the event . I've stood next to Mr Mason's GTO at Goodwood, and the proportions of this four wheeled, V12 powered sculpture are absolutley perfect. So much different in the flesh but equally jaw dropping. Sounds incredible too!

A wonderful prize for some lucky chap.

Anything that goes against the current obsession with the glorification of mediocrity is good in my book.

I used to see him race a lot when my Father-in-Law was in the VSCC. I recall standing on the pit wall when Chloe came in and watched the rest of the race from next to me.
"Your Dad not here today?", I enquired.
"No he's touring in the States. I saw him in Philadelphia last night and flew in this morning for the racing.", she replied.

How the other half live.

Dear Sweet Jesus!!!!!!!!! Labour have got to go.

How on earth do manage to link the government into this?

The charity has been around for just shy of 30 years.

I fail to see why 'charities' such as these should recieve tax breaks from the Government, that's all. There needs to be a comprehensive review of the classification of 'charity' as soon as possible, something which Tony has refused to sanction. Over the last 10 years the number of registered charities has gone through the roof and some new legislation is required. It may well come under Gordon as he looks to cut back more than he already has.
