It occurred to me a few days ago while I was trying to squeeze shopping in, that the boot would be a lot more usable if there was a way to keep the packed soft-top at the back of the boot - pushed up against the rear lights. It fits there perfectly and this would make the boot space much more usable with the roof stowed.

Has anyone come up with a cunning (simple) way to keep the roof in that position?

Will it fit with the seat right back? Doesn't look like there's space (mine's a short roof S2).

Depends on how quickly you need access to it I suppose. Mine tucks up towards the back of the clam just fine. Don't even bother with the storage bag anymore.

Yup it does - excellent place to put it when the weather changes from poor to good suddenly.

The seat goes back all bar one click in my MY04 S2 111S, but I'm often a little concerned about pressure on the rear speakers....

I've found that by rolling both ends to the middle (roof bars packed separately) I can get it to lay on top of the shopping. Personal best was 13 Tesco carrier bags and softop in boot clap Although some of the bags only had about 5 things in them

Do you have a cunning way to keep it there or do you just jam it there with whatever you are putting in the boot?

Just ask it nicely

Ah... I think my roof suffers from ADD or something, it really doesn't like being left in the boot.
