*** JULY 2007 WINNERS ****

I have found this a difficult task. First of all, congratulations to everybody for putting their pictures forward for judging. A healthy field of entries makes for a good competition .... and there have been so many good ones, with a broad interpretation of the rather simple theme....
There were also a few photos that never made it into the official thread, and which would have placed highly had they done so, especially Beano's banknote, which was one of my favourites.....
and fletch's lizard, which I liked because the whole frame was made up of subtle shades of green....(although it would benefit from a little colour boost)
but.... rules are rules.....so, in no particular order, commendations firstly go to Furtive for this woodland view...
F308Man's lambo in the alps.....shame the car wasn't lime green as well!
Stigmundfreud's super-contrasty river bank...
Tertius fir....a nicely focused green shot
and Viggen's green transport also made me smile....
but the three winners are....
in third place.....
Ae111sr's macro leaf, which despite not being too sharp, has mesmeric qualities to it and for me really highlights the relaxing effect of the colour green.
In second place......
Eliseboymac1's jungle canopy. I really liked the viewpoint, and contrast punctuated by the bright backlit leaves, and the strangely neat lushness. This one for me "felt" green, even if the colour did not dominate.
And finally, the winner for July 2007 is.....
CVP's frog ..... which had it all for me, nice and sharp, well framed, good dof, great expression and definitely green!

Just a quick question however, what's happened to the voting system? I missed last months conclusion and this months has been judged by last months winner. Was this considered a fairer solution? Not that I have a problem with it, it's fine, I'm just curious.

There were some great images this month, I particularly like Ae111sr's macro leaf, a really beautiful and restful image.
I'll try and come up with an August topic ASAP and will post a new thread.
