Carrefour opening hours ?
Discussion
if my memory serves me correctly, I think its open till about 8 or 9pm through the week and saturday, Sunday it shuts significantly earlier - about 3pm I think.
and 24hours... non.
..I of course await to be corrected though!
Just as a reminder too, the french petrol stations (with the exception of a few on the autoroutes) do not stay open 24 hours either, and are card-operated only out of normal business hours. Unless you have a froggy credit card, your UK one won't work either.

Thanks....
My pal has just got back to me on it. 9pm it is
I think I'm going to end up taking beer from blighty.
I don't get there until 4am Friday, and apparently it's hard work leaving & re entering the site ?
Depends what site you are on really, but most have access in and out of the site throughout the week/end. Your main problem will be the traffic once you get out, though if you are not silly about it and don't try and go there anytime on Friday afternoon (any time on Friday will be busier), the traffic (in my experience) isn't as bad as some people make out. I wouldn't bother lugging beer with you either. Providing you like the little french stubbies, a crate of 24 can be had for as little as 5 euros. Stock up on your day of arrival and then you won't have to worry about it for the rest of the weekend.
Carrefour also has a selection of other "le mans essentials" - table and chairs? Sorted. Fine selection of dirty french meats? Got it covered. Flat screen plasma TV's? Sure, if you're German.
ETA: re-read your post and seen you are getting there on Friday morning - would recommend you get down there for opening, as, like I say, Friday afternoon traffic is a bit hellish. Plus, leave it too late, and you WILL be forced to do a burnout at the Houx roundabout on the way back

Yep, can concur on that fact about late night petrol stations ! A few years ago , we were almost stranded in the early hours on a thimblefull of petrol at those card only stations. and 24hours... non.

We tried all credit & banks cards to no avail. Luckly a freind got hold of a local cab driver who we paid so she could get our petrol on her card , otherwise it would have been 4 blokes in a golf overnight, not good !

Hmmmm, I've got a midnight Ferry on Sunday night and according to Google maps it's a 290 mile trip. Even in money-saving mode it will be tight on a tiny Elise tank, so assuming I leave with a brimmed tank at around 5pm, will I find a petrol station on the way back?
You've got it easy! Try a 5.6 gallon tank and a car that does ~25mpg. Every 100 miles you start to get anxious for a fuel stop!Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
