Wet Clutch Pedal ?
Discussion
Ive had a small leak for a little while in the Chimaera.
The carpet keeps getting wet on the drivers side, at the back and bottom of transmission tunnel.
This only happens when the car is parked and at a slight angle (towards offside) is heavy rain.
Tonight, after heavy rain overnight, the carpet was again soaked. Upon further investigation i noticed that it was dripping from the Clutch Pedal.
I followed this wet patch up to the top of the pedal and along the actuator shaft and out of sight.
There are 3 points to note here.
1)Ive never had any trouble with the clutch whatsoever.
2)It only leaks when the car is stationary and in this position.
3)The fluid on the carpet is definately water.
Does anyone know where this leak could be coming from/is it a common leak?
Or am i being naieve and the only fluid that could possibly travel along the rod is from the Master Cylinder itself?
Thanks in anticipation.

Yep, several grommits on the inner wing (where's Wallace when you need him?) and the brake fluid reservoir all need sealing. Sometimes they can look sealed until you prod them. Sounds like one of these is your culprit.
This would have been such a simple thing for TVR to fix with a bit of GRP molding ... instead you have to reseal the servo/clutch fluid chamber every time you want to check the clutch fluid level. Hence, nobody bothers between services. Not clever really is it.

Can't get you head around it, try this

Sorry couldn't resist.

Just recently had a similar dilemma.
Noticed on the top of my left shoe a wet spot that was refusing to dry out! I found that during driving I was taking my foot of the clutch pedal and resting it underneath. I noticed on a couple of occasions that the top of my shoe came on contact with the bottom of the pedal, in the same area as this wet spot on the shoe.
I put my hand down under the pedal and it was wet. No rain for the last month so I was doubtful that it was water. So got down in the face down tonyrec position (see above)

Tony, I'm pretty sure water can get down there. After all the clutch resevoir is under there so if fluid can leak down to the pedal, why can't water?
As someone said earlier, check the cover over the resevior is fully sealed and also the brake resevoir on top of the inner wing, there are also some rubber grommets just above the heat sheilding too.
