One of my exaust olives has fallen apart and i'm struggling to find a replacement, 2 motor factors and 1 exhaust supplier has been unable to find a match.

Does any one know the part number or what it's originally off?

Cheers
Ben

Dimensions are;

id 50.5mm
od 64.3mm
width 15mm

it's a solid cast piece rather than pressed steel.

There standard on all the V8 wedges.
RT racing should do them, or any other specialist.

There are two Jag ones that fit. both from the XJS, Unipart factors stock them, I probably posted the part numbers 6 months ago, do a search.

Sure - all surfaces need to be as flat and rust free as possible - that includes the manifold ends .. with all old gasket removed - the collapseable spacers ultimately rust to nothing .. then fit the sealing ring with exhaust assembly putty .. have someone hold the exhaust and collar in the best position while you tighten the clamp - as it will all try to move spoiling the joint. Same for other side - then run engine until hot and leave to cool.

That usually does it - it's easy really.

Adam, did the BLG1 or BLG10's provide the best fit/seal in the end?

As Rev has said especially about the aligning of the collar yes

Make sure you tighten up the two collar bolts at a similar amount each time so the olive is pulled in squarely into the bell of the pipes.....it is usually the misalignment of the olive that results in the leaks thumbup

One of the best mods I did to my old wedge was to weld a short length (3") of close fitting pipe, the pipe diameter should be a close fit inside the main exhaust pipes and you then clamp up on the flange.

went from constantly leaking and needing ponging up all the time, to not needing any ponge at all and never needed looking at it again.

The Jag BLG1 fits nicely, but disintegrates within a few hundred miles because of its construction.
\the BLG10 needs longer bolts, but is still going strong now after 12 years!
