I was filling up my ’98 Chimaera 500 yesterday when a chap pulled in with a ’02 Chimaera with clear headlight covers (a bit like a Griffith).
I think they looked really good, does anyone know whether they fit earlier models and where/how much they cost?
Cheers

Ant.

The headlamp pod upgrade can be fitted to the earlier cars, it does involve cutting the grp a bit, but can be done without painting.
Sportmotive can supply the pods and fit if required.

There have been threads on here about upgrading the original piss poor headlights with zenon units out of a VW Lupo.

With the Lupo units fitted, would it still be possable to retrofit the later style headlight bubble covers?
EXACTLY what sprang to mind with me! Then I saw your post... and realised there's no point in, er, posting again, er...

Yup, just had the "Lupo" light conversion done at Carizma. Have to say I was pleased when my wife looked and asked what they had done - the upgrade brings the front up to date, solves the Elton syndrome, but doesn't bugger up the classic lines. Will be at the Roar on Sunday if anyone wants a gander.

I'm taking a pair Lupo's and a pair of MK3 pods to the ROAR this weekend, personally I don't think they will fit, but when I get chance I'll take a look and let you all know.Cheers Fibreon

I have fitted Fibreon's kit and am very pleased with the result - I'll be at ROAR with it on Saturday. Not a bad winter DIY job if you are handy with a Dremel and confident using sealant.

Is there any issue with heat from xenon Lupo lights if covered up with the plastic cowl?
