Did anyone see the WTCC at the weekend from Imola. First time I had seen the new Imola which was completed in September last year, where they have created a new pit lane and complex. Circuit changes are removing the final chicane and now have a straight (dog leg) run from the Rivazza all the way to the Traguada/Tamubello section. 1km of wonky straight. The only downside was the immediate turn to the right that they do off the grid.

What they have essentially down is gone back to the very old, non-chicane front straight and new pits. The rest is the same.

World Superbikes back there this weekend if you want to see it.

Pre-2008 layout used for recent F1 and WSBK

Yep, but they kept the slowed down Variante Alta. So they have improved one part but left the other part disfigured. I can still see Button going through that chicane to take his first pole position in 2004.

Compared to now.

Much better pits area though.
