Front wing and bargeboard matches the Arrows 2 seater posted above. Same thing, different colours.

Martin Brundle & David Coulthard are on their way to the Yas Marina circuit to drive that 2 seater around the new circuit for a piece for the BBC. To be screened during the Abu Dhabi race weekend.

Dear old Tom Walkinshaw had many, err, interesting characteristics, but he certainly had a knack for knowing how to knock the socks off his (potential or current) sponsors by devoting some engineering time and money to the problem.

If only the characteristics which got him into the game in the first place hadn't been the same ones which were always going to be his undoing.

Slighty hijacking the topic, How many of the teams have 2 seaters?

I know McLaren has (or had?) one.
I think Renault has one and i think i remember seeing a reference to a 3 seater?
Ferrari had one. Do they still use it?

Any advance on that
I saw the Minardi X2 cars at Donnington last year. they looked fantastic.

I remember the Arrows 2-seater from when I was working at Orange, they announced there was to be a competition for the staff, the prize being a ride in it. I got really excited until I discovered that all you had to do was answer one really stupid simple question, what F1 team are Orange sponsoring this year or some such nonsense. They might as well have put all our names into a hat.

My suggestion was that everybody should enter a huge F1 quiz with about a hundred questions going right back to the 1950's and that I would set it for them. Obviously this would then mean I couldn't enter, therefore my payment for compiling it was that I would have to be given a ride in the car too.

Funnily enough, the MD never responded to my memo.

Jake Humphrey said on his blog that Coulthard and Brundle are driving the 2 seater in Abu Dhabi for a piece coming up on the F1 programme. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/jakehumphrey/2009/10/no...

EJ used to race. Don't under-estimate the power of the EJiot.

I seem to vaguely remember hearing (maybe from on here) that there were actually fewer cars than there appeared to be and they kept getting new paint jobs for each outing

And an F3 2 seater alongside a Formula Renault 2 seater - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6tM2-ZK674

There's also an CART 2 seater, I'm sure there was a Formula Palmer 2 seater as well. Pretty much every series did one after F1 started the trend.

Which was actually inspired by an older Ford Transit fitted with a Cosworth DFV !!

There was also an earlier version (Supervan 1) with a Ford GT40 engine, and a later version (Supervan 3) which was built on a Ford C100 race car chassis and originally powered by a mid-mounted 650bhp Cosworth HB F1 engine.
