I am looking at fitting some VW Lupo headlight in my 96 Chim, and I have been given GSF part numbers 94295 and 94294 as the correct piece of kit to retrofit. Can anyone confirm that these are the correct part nos and the correct LUPO lights. The price is £58 + VAT.

Cant help with the question, but before you take the leap have you seen a chim in the flesh with these fitted ? I was considering having them done until I saw how they looked in the flesh.

The issue I had was with the finishing and fit of the cowl (or whatever you call it) and the general appearance having a definate aftermarket look.

I guess if you are doing it yourself you may well make a better job of the finish.

Carizma in Melton Mowbray offer this conversion. Images on their website are worth a look.

Had mine done by Carizma whilst the front was being repaired after being hit by a pushbike. I have to say IMHO I like the look and they don't look any more aftermarket than the originals did, but each to their own

More importantly, I can see where I'm going at night, no more Elton John momentslaugh

Thanks for the info. I'm having mine done at a company called Z Cars, East Yorkshire near where I live, they have quoted me approx £300 for fitting so I want to make sure that the headlights I order are the correct ones. Does anyone have a part number and supplier other than GSF in my original question?

I checked with Carizma and they want the car for a week which is why I don't plan to go there. Are the Lupo headlights from any particular year or will all years fit my Chim, which is black so should look good.

There are 2 types of Lupo headlights, both will fit but the ones in the pictures in this thread, and all the ones I've seen fitted, are the base spec Lupo lights found on the base spec, early cars, something like a 99 1.2Td, the newer lights and the GTi spec Lupos have the indicator mounted in the headlight, and/or Xenons, no real reason why these later spec lights wouldn't work you could even loose the TVR indictors as well.
With a bit of luck I'm planning to do this mod (with a little assistance) while the chassis is being sorted. rotate

So, are you saying the lights from a current GTi spec car are the best to use and they don't have the indicators integral in the light?

Peter.

I think the later ones are Hid type and only one beam / with indicator. The other beam is a seperate light in the lupo bumper. The early ones are H4 type Hi/Low bean same as TVR setup.

I have, I am sure, seen a thread on PH showing how to fit the Lupo items.

Can anyone shed any light, (get it), on this?

Peter.

So what light is used on this car?

Early Lupo, H4?

Peter.
