Hello,

I used to have a picture taken at Santa Pod of an Aston Martin Drag Racing car

I think the owners name was Chris

It was either custom car or street machine magazine that had the picture

The car had a massive supercharger etc

Does anyone have any pictures of this car.

thanks

Stuart

Yeah, I wondered about that car,too....."where is Steve Neimantas?"
I think I saw the "Goldfinger" Truck & Trailer in the NFAA (?) Pits 2009 ?
Never knew it was built by Al O´Connor, why didn´t he drive it ?

Al was building it to replace the gasser but sold it on.

Last time I saw the rig it was when Kenny Coleman and co were using it.

I was watching a TV documentary about Aston Martin and as the camera panned round, there was Mr O'Connor busy beavering away on the car in the corner of the old antiquated AM factory.

It was for sale in street machine or custom car a few years ago, the Ad stated "Good for overtaking" seem to remember it was 75K ( but dont quote me on that) and I spent too much on the national lottery that week.

Probably an urban ledgend,

But the story I remember well was that Al was building the car for super gas to be sponcered by Aston Martin
The deal being that he had to use an A M engine, Not a problem as they had health size V8's

ledgend goes that A M insisted on Al using the fuel injection system as the factory car did but that was disalowed by the supergas rules,

And that was that so they say,

Any truth in any of that? Or just total myth???

I`m Steve Neimantas,owner/driver of said Aston.Bought it of Al O`Conner about 12/13 years ago,as an unfinished project.Chassis was built by Geoff Hauser and was to have run with an Aston engine and powerglide. When i bought the car i took it to Andy Robinson for tin work, motor mounts, chassis updates,headers,etc.etc.Haven`t raced it since Main Event 2007,due to other commitments.Sold my artic and trailer to a bloke in Greece 12 months ago,but have just bought a new truck and trailer so hope to be back out sometime next year.

It's fixable...

That sounds like a name from the Baltic to me.

By which I mean Latvia / Lithuania / Estonia.
