Does anyone know what a Pro6 weighs when it rolls out of the factory?????

I am lead to believe that there is quite a significant difference in the weight of the Pro6 and other models such as SR4, SR3, etc

I did weight mine when I first had it back in 2008, from memory it was 470kg ish with fluids & a bit of fuel (wet sumped car)

That was with the optional bigger wheels & tyres.

our data (from weigh in at track side in 2008 and 2009) shows that:

1, they are all different by a good number of kilos
2, non of them are anywhere near the, er, spec.
3, they are quick whatever they weigh.

Have a read of the SR3 vs PR6 thread from a few days ago, there's a few opinions on their relative weights amongst other, as usual, interesting things

From between (about) 470 and 510 of your EarthKilos - post race, drop of fuel, oil, water (no driver).

Anyone any idea why?

That's a lot, did they run out of tube and use bar instead?

Count can you remember what mine weighed.

I picked up a side pod from the factory last year for a fellow racers car it must have been at least twice the weight of the original one fitted to his car.

After he fitted it, did he take the whole car back to the factory to have it re-corner weighted?

Your in the £ seats for this years racing JP, the older cars are lighter as the newer body work seems to be stronger to the touch I guess by dint of being heavier!

Also the new cars run a larger rad with modified side pod sporting additional ducting, adding more weight & wind resistance!

(Just getting in some pre-season excuses as why I'm gonna get my arse kicked whilst the going's good!)

Cheers for the tips Guys, I suppose the best option is to get hold of one and actually weigh it hahahahaha.

I know that my SR4 was 525 Kgs before I sat in it with 2 litres of fuel in it. I weigh between 80 and 85 Kgs depending on how many pies I have eaten that day (I like to think it is pure muscle though). So that would make the total 605 to 610 Kgs.

Seems a little heavy that I think.

Without giving away any trade secrets by identifying the owners, these were the (end of race weights, without driver) for the Radical runners with BESCR, at Brands, in October 2008:

Radical SR4 516
Radical SR4 508
Radical SR4 523
Radical SR4 526
Radical SR3 575
Radical SR3 603
Radical SR3 573
Radical PR6 500
Radical PR6 471
Radical PR6 482
Radical Clubsport 450
Radical Clubsport 457

Like my Speads (was) the cars are only heavy when you compare the truth with what the manufacturers' would like you to believe. wink

And, no! I'm not having a pop at The Big 'R' before someone gets all uppity

Has the Speads gone? Saw it in the wilds of Suffolk one day years ago and thought it looked a nice piece of kit. Have you seen the light and decided to throw your money in Peterborough's direction? biggrin

Looking at those figures it does seem that there is a weight advantage with the Pro 6.
I guess its upto the owner to keep the weight down on both his car and his gut.

Why’s that, Nick?

Did Hell suddenly freeze over and I miss it?

Acherlee, while Bob Farnham was kicking the sh*t out of its (R1) engine, the Speads was on a strict diet of slimming tablets and aerodynamic steroids and is now an all carbon (real carbon, not choppy with carbon laid on top (ahem!)) – thousand class ‘tunnel’ car that is so light that it moves if you cough in the workshop.

I would post some snaps when it finally gets off the chassis stands at the end of next week, but I’d probably get told off and I’m a good boy now. smile

Out of interest what did Bob manage to squeeze out of it? He rung 184 rwhp out of mine, with std cams... (1 litre). Used in a bike, not a car unfortunately...
