looked interesting right up to the point where I saw the ridiculous claimed performance gains.

I imagine with the addition of an electric turbo as well power could be doubled wink

And elsewhere on the net:

i bought this new exhaust from the US it is absolutely amazing. im pretty sure that there are only 10 of these in the UK and im the only supplier(but dont quote me on that) when i found this new company Aero turbine, i was quite skeptical of its claims but, im always up for anything new that will help me save some money and also show a significant amount of power for my 1.1 litre 106. this being especially important when the nearest UK equivalent vortex exhaust was quoted for £375 no way thats too much. especially when it comes with a 3 year warranty. so this cost me £210 including the taxes, still saving some bucks i went ahead and got it. when it arrived i was amazed at the build quality and it looked pretty good as well. i went that same afternoon to get it fitted and let me tell you i have never heard sound like this before it sounded like a v6 under the bonnet and the geezer fitting it was really amazed. not to get ahead of my self i still had to figure out if it made any difference in power like they claim. the guy that fitted it was the first to check it out and he was actually quite amazed as he explained that the vortex and the aero turbine actually show the same characteristics only that the aero turbine has a much better sound. next was the test for the power gain and let me tell you, until that point i was sure that there was no way my car could do wheel spins. i was absolutely wrong. it was amazing at the power gains as well. i remember that if i had 4 people in the car including my self the car was really embarrasing climbing hills and the rev counter just wouldnt move now all that has changed and im pretty sure its this exhaust that has changed that. a few weeks later i noticed that my fuel economy had increased by nearly 5 mpg!!! amazing stuff. last week i had my car motd and it passed with even better results than last year plus the mot technician thought the exhaust temp guage < b/ > was broken because it was extremely low. jus thought i would let you all know. p.s if any one would like to buy this from me and reap the same rewards i did please contact me as i got them in bulk and am selling them for £180 each still a lot cheaper than the vortex

I think they mean including the "Vortex Engine MAnagment system" ie a remap!

I'd be interested in the 119bhp Nova 1200 BEFORE the exhaust though!

It would be hard to get a stock 1.8T (150) from 180 to 225 with just a remap, you'd need air intake, intercooler and exhaust to get those figures, they claim 225bhp after just the exhaust.

They be trollin.

The Vortex Raceflo was used to replace the rear box of the standard exhaust system and was compared to full cat back systems from the above manufacturers. no modifications were made to the ECT

Exhaust BHP Vortex NM Vortex is x better
Vortex +14 25
Mongoose +2 7x 1.5 16x
Powerflow -1 n/a 1.5 16x
Janspeed +2.5 5.6x 3 8.33x
Wolfrace +1 14x 3.1 8x
Scorpion +1 14x 2 12.5x
Blue Flame +0.5 28x 1.6 15.6x
Mangex -1 n/a 2.2 6.4x
Quicksilver +1.5 9.3x 2.9 4.8x
Pro drive +2 7x 3.1 4.5x
Are they saying they get 14 bhp on a 2005 STI by changing the backbox?

When professional manufacturers get up to 2.5 BHP. Especially pro drive who know the car inside out.

Seriously?

Their figures seem a bit too far fetched. I don't like the way that they have odd cars in the 'Hot Hatch' category. Typical Hot Hatches are GTI's, Type-R's and the like - not 1.2 Nova's...Oh wait, I see now, they are targeting Le Chav.

First line of the hot hatch section. WTF? When did a 1200 Nova ever make 119bhp? I can just see the Max Power McDonalds boys thrashing the tits off their cars, and claiming 145bhp to their mates (no doubt plus at least another 15bhp for the K&N, 15 for the spark plugs, and a final 15bhp more for the leads)

Dis bloke in a Type-R din' see which way I went. E' 'ad no chance!

They say they guarantee a 10% gain in bhp, else your money back. They do a before and after performance check using a Reiner 3000(?). From what I gather it is a unit that replaces your middle box or welds in before the back box, somehow reduces back pressure.

Too good to be true?

From what they say they replace the back box and that is it.

I'm not surprised by the guy at work thinking his Fiesta 1.25 has 130bhp after fitting a Peco exhaust and K&N air filter, when you have companies claiming obvious lies like this!
