Heya,

I returned an Ipod that I got for Xmas to Currys as I've got an Iphone and they've given me £145 credit note, with this I'd like to buy a digital camera.

I don't mind putting a bit extra towards it if it means I'll get a better deal, I don't know much about cameras so would greatly appreciate some advice from someone who does biggrin

Cheers!

I have a Canon ISUX 950 IS as my compact which is similar to the 95IS at the bottom of your link.

Fantastic little camera, built like a tank, good image quality and easy to use!

Canon or Panasonic get my vote.

Sony are good cameras but they frequently don't last.

What about adding £4 and getting this Panasonic Lumix lots of features and a nice 12x optical zoom. (looks like they just took £120 off it as it's selling at higher prices elsewhere)

Might get one myself smile

I would also be looking at that Canon - I have been very pleased indeed with my Ixus 75, and that one looks to have a higher spec than mine.

As we are obviously related, I'd also recommend the Lumix. Good little camera.

Looks the same as my TZ7 apart from the TZ7 has HD video (which i've never used) - i've had a TZ1 (first 10x optical zoom in a compact body) which i bought as an impulse purchase when i went to buy a Sony something or other.. then i upgraded to a TZ5 which was stolen last year and replaced with the TZ7.

I've also got a Canon 30d which i've had for a few years with various lens' - the Panasonic is great along side this. I'd recommend to anyone and will be going for the tz10 at some point.

small, light, fits in your pocket, loads of features that are really easy to use. an effective anti-shake, brilliant zoom, fantastic picture quality (especially at night!), cant go wrong
