Old Car Brochures
Discussion
Very interesting this - I've got about 3000 brochures in my garage...all filed in manufacturer order (very sad, I know).
I started collecting when I was a young'un back in about 1990 and have pretty much one brochure for every car sold in the UK since then. The exceptions are a few exotics that I can't get hold of without paying big money and stuff from the last 3-4 years where I've not bothered collecting unless I'm really interested in the car.
The quality of hard-copy brochures these days is largely quite poor as they're very basic....I guess there's no need when you can get all the info and configure most stuff online. Prime example was the RCZ brochure I picked up today which I can at best describe as a tiny picture book but then the online configurator for this car is very good indeed!
Not really sure what to do with all my brochures now as I don't read them....maybe they'll be worth something in the future when paper brochures don't exist anymore??

Ecxellent! I'm not getting rid but i do have some nice 70's ones - an embossed Jensen Interceptor, Porsche 911, Droop Snoot Firenza, Citroen SM and some amazingly cheap "supercar" stuff like some lambo postcards and a black and white Ferrari leaflet. Also have some unusual stuff like the Gilbern Invader, the original Allegro launch brochures and so on and so forth. One day I'll dig them out to indulge myself in the sheer beauty of design unfettered by safety requirements.

I've a feeling that being in a box that has been through several house moves, some or all may now be a bit dog-eared.

I'm also a very keen car brochure/literature collector. I have a stack that has slowly been building up over the years, some even arrived from Japan!
I'd happily purchase brochures or anything similar if you are looking to get rid, just send me a message. I'm specifically after Jap/German or British marques. Many thanks

I am not a collector, but have been very lucky to get some great brochures from some lovely people in dealers.
Here are a few photos of my two favourite brochures I have. The 458 one is probably the most valuable I have, I don't think I will ever get rid of it- I think it is quite rare as it is for owners.

This is right up my street.
I have huge brochure collection, specialising in Lamborghini and exotic cars.
I have every V12 Lamborghini brochure from the introduction of the Muira onwards, including all press packs, manufacturer info, year books, and such like with no exceptions or gaps.
Didn't think it was that impressive until people in the know came to see it.
Also got most Ferrari V12's, Mclaren F1 press and launch brochure,Bugatti Veyron, Cizeta, Dauer 962, Bentley, Koenigsegg, Spyker, Pagaini and such like.
I love collecting them, very sad I know, but seeing peoples faces when I show them, and they see the depth of the collection, hear how much it it insured for, and see how complete it is makes it worthwhile.
Anyone want any info on what I've got, just ask.
May even post some pics if you're interested.
Cheers,
Ruttboy.

I've been very fortunate in my employment in being able to have access to archives of several manufacturers, and with their permission, fill in the blanks.
My collection is so complete that various brochure dealers and specialist websites have used my knowledge to compile definitive lists of brochures for reference.
As I said before, I know I'm sad, but I can't help it.
