How can I find out my previous car registrations

I'm collecting scale models of the cars I have owned and hope to put mini plates on (busy few weeks of jury service)but I'm struggling on a couple of registration plates. Would the DVLA tell me the plate numbers of previously owned cars? I don't have any insurance forms or other documents for any of them.

I think a HPI check will list all previous and current registration marks against a vehicle

Won't I need the plate number for that though?

Have you checked through old photographs to see if the reg is visible - maybe in the background, etc?

I must have completely misread your question... I thought you wanted to know all the registrations your vehicle has had.

I doubt you will be able to query the DVLA about your own personal owners history, so I would also look into old photographs and see if they reveal anything...

good call. Will try that. I must of taken a picture of truly criminal J reg astra which I had put 14" fox alloys on.

Thinking about that car I remember a truly shocking tale of me flying up the Coventry Highway in Redditch
having just put a red sun strip on. I
thought I was ace, make no doubt about it until the sun strip flew off at about 80 and attached itself to the windscreen of a corsa following. They had to swerve across unto the grass verge into the middle of the road missing cars by inches.

Photographs
Old insurance documents
Old invoices, copies that didn't go when it got sold etc
Depends how up to date you are with your paper work.

Not sure how else you could do it.

You must have some idea of the Letter/Number sequences used, just keep pumping various options in to an insurance quote machine until it comes up with the right vehicle. If they've been junked (taken off the DVLA dbase)you'll have to resort to other methods.

I think my mini was C150 RBL, my astra I think was J*** DA* my Saxo VTR was Y557 MAB. I'm pretty confident on the Saxo
