Controlling hot air into the cabin
Discussion
During the recent warm spell I've noticed that hot air is still pouring out of the dash vents (98-4.5)when moving.
As a temporary measure I've stuffed a tennis ball into the intake (just below the passenger side indicator), this stops the ram air effect and allows the air con to work more efficiently.
I've just read this months Sprint magazine where a guy has fitted a Ford Ka heater control valve to the hot air matrix.......anyone done this mod ?
The parts are cheap as chips so may be worth a punt ?

No but I've done the hot air recirculation mod and it worked fine.
Worst 'Mod' ever devised for mankind, I want to undo mine, and it's something I'm going to attempt this winter I think. The only thing I can think about the re-circ mod that might not work would be the lack of "fresh" coming in which would not promote easy demisting. When you re-circ you don't create the positive pressure in the cabin and thus do not force out the moist air.
After sitting in mine over the weekend, where it got so hot that I even lost power steering!!
I'm seriously thinking about some way of stopping the heat getting in the cabin. Another source of heat is through the gear stick / handbrake area.

Any updates from anyone?
I'm going to try to fit a Ka Valve under the expansion tank, I'll probably have to modify (shorten) the heater pipes though.
Any idea where I can get the Bosch type plugs that every engine bay connector seems to use?
They're quite expensive if you want to buy new, the local scrap yard let me rummage around until I found what I needed. I'm going to try to fit a Ka Valve under the expansion tank, I'll probably have to modify (shorten) the heater pipes though.

edited to say I still haven't done the mod.

Unless you meant the connectors, I should check Beal and places like that I guess.
