Address help! RBS Edinburgh!
Discussion
What a fecking nightmare!
I'm working at RBS HQ tomorrow, Gogarburn. The postcode that I was given (twice) is EH12 1HQ - which is also what I have found using Google searching for RBS HQ.
But..... I'm staying in a hotel nearby (allegedly - EH12 postcode) and this evening I went out, sat nav in hand, looking for said RBS HQ at said postcode.
The postcode is in the bloody middle of nowhere round the back of Haymarket and no sight of RBS! After asking some passers by I find that Gogarburn is near the airport....
Anyone on here know what the hell is going on with this postcode? Is Gogar Park House near the airport? Or is there, as indicated on all the bloody Google searches, a hidden underground RBS bunker near Haymarket Station?
Confused Southerner.....

It's on the A8 Glasgow Road just a mile or so before the airport.
Gogar Park House might be the building on the left as you go down Gogar Station Road (off the A8).
As you come out of town on the Glasgow Road (A8), once you pass the large junction with the end of the bypass (A720) Gogar Station Road is 1st on the left. You can access the RBS complex from this road.
There is a bus that goes there from town, but I don't know the number - lothian buses website would tell you that.

I'm staying at the Travelodge in Eglington Crescent - because it is less than a mile from EH12 1HQ. Which is obviously NOT the postcode of the RBS HQ; looks like it is EH12 9GB.Edinburgh Marriott Hotel

Oh FFS. It cost £16 for a bloody taxi from the airport so I'll try the bus. Looks like an X48...
Cheers guys; but why the hell is there such a screw up with the postcodes? (Rhetorical question really...)

Check www.lothianbuses.co.uk they have a service that goes right into the RBS site.
I called them, and it's the X48.I just can't believe that the postcode is so screwed up though. The last time this happened was at the Maccy D HQ in London. I reckon it's deliberate, but they should at least make sure that contractors coming to their site have the correct info to get them there....

Where we get caught out occassionally at work is business post codes which are PO box at sorting office
EH12 1HQ Is a post box at Sorting office in Russell street!
Fortunately when our map shows the sorting office you know the above ia the problem

£16? was it a Dick Turpin black cab? Use Edinburgh City Private Hire, 0131 477 4000 Airport to Apex Hotel at Waterloo Place was only £15.
The AirLink bus is excellent too. Waverley to airport for 3 quid or something. Fiver for an open return. Think there are only about 6 stops on the entire route - only takes 20 mins.roorky said:

and has a habit of the police finding large amounts of cash and firearms in his house. They weren't his though, someone else was convicted for them. The 100 stolen cars that were getting used in one of his minicab companies in Dundee - weren't his either.
