Hi
GT Silver is a special paint option costing about £1,500 extra. Its a slightly darker silver which was my previous car and looks better than standard silver.

if you look at the stirlings website (stirlings.co.uk - no connection) you will see Mark has a couple of arctic silver and one GT silver car on there. You really need to see them in the flesh but GT to my eye is a bit darker than arctic and, I think, a nicer colour. You shouldnt see much of a difference in second hand prices though?

If you trawl through the 986 classifieds, any 550 Spyder Anniversary models you'll see should be in GT silver.

is this the reason for £1500 extra

GT Silver is called so because it was created for the Carrera GT.

I had a 997 Turbo in GT Silver and it has more depth (metallic) than standard silvers and has been said, is darker than Arctic.

I'll try to post a phot for you.

GT Silver was specifically "made" for the Carrrera GT and was the launch colour and the vast majority of CGTs are GT Silver. I had an excellent book on the making of the Carrera GT and there were a few pages of arty ste describing how Porsche arty people came up with the colour and how it suited perfectly the lines of the CGT. It was supposedly to be exclusive for the CGT but like everything Porsche marketing say.........

GT Silver

But not worth £1500 new IMHO. Let someone else pay the premium cus it aint worth nothing secondhand.

Had Estoril Blue on my old M3 cabriolet and that made the car sell better 2nd hand and possibly commanded a slight premium because it was different and fewer cars in that colourv but to most silver is pretty much that silver
