Hi Guys, difficult with pics I know but from what you can see will I have trouble with ground clearance onto the drive? I was OK with Caterhams.

996 or 997?

May possibly scrape on way out of drive in a 997. On the dip from end of drive to road. Wouldn't worry about it too much, I scrape mine every day.

My driveway is a lot steeper than that and my Turbo is fine as long as I drive in/reverse out at an angle. Looking at your photos, I reckon you'll be fine.

my Spyder kisses the bottom of our road - unless you drive just to the right of it :-(

There is some general information on GT3 ramp angles here and elsewhere on Google

At very worst you would only touch the bottom of the splitter - the bit you can't see. And i don't even think you would do that.

Get it bought!!! smile

I own a 996 GT3/1 and I reckon it would touch on the first positive angle.

A 997 will almost certainly kiss the tarmac, but it wouldn't cause any damage other than scuffing the underneath - not steep enough to rip it off, unless you try it at more than "dead ahead slow"?

Drive or reverse on? Drive or reverse off?

Hard to know from the pics. I drive a 7gt3 and I'd guess it would be fine taken very slowly.

Generally I've not had any ground clearance issues, minor speed bumps are no problems either.

I may be wrong, but I don't think it makes any difference as the front overhang is so long, if you reverse up, the nose just scrapes along the flat part of the road anyway?

That entrance looks wide enough for car to be driven in at an angle,so i think ok.

It'll be fine, worst case scenario it'll ground out on the bottom of the splitter (996 & 7) it's a consumable, buy a replacement smile

If the splitter doesn't catch then the bottom of the brake cooling ducts (996) may well. You can't see them and as long as they're there they'll be cooling the brakes smile

If it's a real problem, re-engineer the drive or move house !

I don't think that you have anything to worry about from those pictures (out of the box that is - you can always have the ride height raised or lowered by your geometry specialist of choice)...

997.2 GT3 clearance at front is about 97mm - that goes up to about 125mm with the lift system up.

Rear can be _very_ close in some carparks though - reckon i was within 5mm coming out of one (according to my mate pissing himself laughing in the car behind)
