In Proffesional Photographer magazine this month they have asked three of the world's best wedding photographers to pitch to shoot the Royal Wedding. The photogrpahers are:

I'd be interested to see who the PH 109 forum members think should get the gig smile

I heard from the BBC yesterday... they want to use some of my music.

(Where is that cash register emoticon when you need it)

To the question... my money would be on Crash - style most suited?

I would say Crash too. Interestingly Yervant has chosen a HDR image to showcase his work in the mag! eek

Young and funky couple like them would want Nick's style I reckon.

Crash is cool, I inadvertently pitched him last year to assist which he found quite amusing

For some reason having crash photographs at the royal wedding may not be the best idea.

Happy to admit this one is out of my league!

(but having looked at the links and watched while wizzy things load and zing about, my site is much easier to use. I do wonder how much of the pzazz is Shockwave Flash and not Compact Flash)

Shame they didn't ask Ryan Brenizer - I'd have liked to see him gamble some of his innovative techniques on such a prestigious gig

Wedding photography is scary as f***. One chance to get the right picture. Pressure.

Although having seen the effort that some couples we saw in the last few years with their wedding photographers, it doesn't seem to bother either the photographer or the couple when there is a crappy outcome.

They're young and carefree. They're going to give all the guests a one time digital camera and ask them to upload the images to their Wedding Flickr account.

Phew, glad it's not just me getting middle-aged biggrin

I make no claim to be a web-geek or graphic designer, but people do pay me to take photos, which is most splendid and all I ask smile

I would have thought that flying in a team for a distant place ought to be a no-no on a cost and ecology basis so the chap from Nottingham would be ideal if he has no pre-bookings for that day. If he can book the tickets early enough there might be a deal going for the train fares.

Despite my aversion to weddings I would, for a suitable fee, consider offering my services on this occasion I'm sure I coould find a new slant on the images - although nothing that could not be corrected later if required by a little rotation in an editor. Sadly I find myself pre-committed for the period in question and feel that it is unacceptable to break an existing promise for a jaunt to London.

It's interesting that in the digital age the Windsor family seems not to have anyone of note with family ties in the photography trade when once they seemed to be overrun with them. I suppose calling in Koo Stark would be a bit unlikely? And where are OK! and Hello! in all of this?

I expect that anyone being paid to cover the Royal Wedding is not going to be worried by a rail fare!

Hopefully nowhere.

Hmm. I thought they were doing this as an austerity event ... every halfpenny counts. He would probably have to shoot it for free and take a cut of sales to the media and whatever people bought off his web site.

Meanwhile - how much would Hello! or OK! pay the happy couple for the rights? W&K could probably pay for the whole shindig and buy a couple of castles with the proceeds.
