Dear all,
Brill big surprise, son is standing me a ticket for the F1 at Silverstone this year.

Looking on the sites....it seems big changes.

So, aside the "Platinum" seating ares,(virtually sold out and getting a bit much anyhow) does anyone have any advice as to which stand has best viewpoint.

I'm particularly thinking Woodcote "B" , Luffield "B" and Farm Curve.

Any opinions anyone?

was in "stowe c" last year, definately worth a punt. its incovered but you get a great view down hangar straight, there is always some overtaking into stowe, you see them up vale towards club and there is a big screen right in front of you.....

Becketts is a good spot with the new layout. If you're to the right in the grandstand you can see over to the new turn 1, through the new complex and then pick them up out of Copse and right through down hangar straight. With the new layout I would say that is the best grandstand in terms of how much track you can view. Not sure if it's platinum or not though..

I've been in Luffield A, Luffield B and Club B in the past and I've enjoyed the view from them all!! I love the platinum roving seats for Friday and Saturday so I've been in all the stands at some point in the weekend. Club, Stowe, Luffield B and Woodcote will all offer you long viewing. As mentioned Becketts will also afford you good views of the Becketts complex and the new Arena circuit, but that could also be a bit confusing, trying to watch all that's going on in front of you.

I believe Woodcote will allow you a good view down the wellington straight so that may score +1 over Luffield B. I preferred Luffield A to B as you were more in the middle of the complex than in Luffield B, which is on the periphery.

Don't know if you've been before but wherever you sit I'm sure you'll love it. I enjoy it more each year, moreso than the previous, regardless of the race or the weather!!

Thanks folks..all ordered.

We chatted about the pro's and cons of different stands...ended up tossing coins, and booked Luffield "B".

I've not been to Silverstone in years...I used the follow the Bike GP's...The first F1 race for us both, so sure we'll be hopping up and down wherever we had ended up!

There's a guide on each viewing area/grandstand at Silverstone at the link below. It's got the pro's and con's of each place, plus some photos and videos from a fans perspective so it's pretty handy!

Where to sit at Silverstone

I've recently bought 10 tickets for Becketts as there is a big group of us. You should be able to see a lot of the track from there. Plus has anyone seen the direction change through Maggots and Becketts? Simply awesome!

If I recall, I think Becketts was top money and out of budget for who was paying, (not me biggrin )

Ended up with Luffield "B" , which could be very interesting if DRS is allowed on the Wellington Straight (as other thread)

We shall see. If its anything like the races thus far, we are in for a treat.
