Audi build/delivery times?

Evening all!

Anyone had a new Audi recently? Mine is a week 14 build (next week) and the dealer has told me to expect it 2-3 weeks later. Only thing is, a mate just told me his car went into build week commencing 6th March and he's not taking delivery till later this month. Are they stringing me along with regards to delivery times?

What Audi is it? There was a thread on here a while back about Audi build times. The dealers said you're car will be getting built next week then a three week wait on top of that? There pulling you're leg there mate!

It's an A4 mate. Yup, they reckon 3 weeks from build to delivery. Seems reasonable enough?

I`d have thought that is about right, maybe a little longer for PDI etc.

2-3 weeks is what it takes for Skoda's to arrive once they're built so no reason to suspect the dealer is lying to you.

Thanks. I had no reason to be concerned until my mate mentioned his delivery time - anyway, sounds like it's all good.

The 2-3 week thing should normally be OK, the glitch in March appears to be that we along with EVERY dealer in the UK wanted their customer's cars here to register in the busy month of March, and frankly the system was under strain.

I would hope it will be business as usual for yours and future cars built.

And if the PDI guys are anything like the guys in Wellesbourne distribution centre, it'll be ragged within an inch of it's life for a few miles too.

Erm, we're not all the same and although I'm sure our lads are "enthusiastic" this shouldn't really happen!

Have to resubmit order now. Two weeks have passed!

It appears that the current operator has, or will be vacating. But they used to PDI here.
