Some help please, Has any one adjusted there timing chain,
As per G Varley's sagaris manual, its says to use light pressure turning the 7mm adjustment screw anticlock once the locking nut has been undone
Can anybody confirm that there is only limited adjustment available, What I mean is that the screw will only turn so far before it stops dead meaning that the chain is streched so must thats it has run out of the adjustment range and now time for a new chain! as at no point before the screw stopped turning could I feel anything like the slack being taken up or any resistance on the screw

From my limited knowledge the chain tentioner uses a lobe on the adjustment screw to place pressure on the chain so when you run out of adjustment the adjuster continually spins.

Thanks guys, Thats perfect, as duff says the cam lobe will keep turning once the chain has no life left, will go add a little more pressure than just at the kiss point
Thanks again

The one in the photo looks like its been adjusted clockwise.
The lob is right at the top end of the chain guide.
Dont know if it makes a big difference but Jason at Stra8six once said the me "your chain adjuster had been adjusted the wrong way".

Its only after seeing your photo that I understood what Jason was saying.
We both learned something today.
