Advice needed r.e. brake disc scoring
Discussion
Ok, just spoke to Chris on service at Porsche Leicester who has been fab - he said bring it in anytime this morning and he will ask one of the techs to whip the wheel off and check and clean the caliper, and if i can't make it in before 12.30 - swap it for one of their other cars for the weekend. It looks like a stone had got wedged. I had just come out of the petrol station (which has got plenty of loose stones due to road works) and when i pressed the brakes it admittedly felt strange, hence why i had just checked the car over. I had the music on so didn't really hear anything. Car seems to drive ok now though, so hoping the stone has fked off
Cheers all, and a big thumbs up to OPC Leicester.

Have you heard it screeching like fook at all?
Oh $hitDefinitely back to the dealer then. But I suppose they will only say it happened after you bought the car. But I recon there is a bit of metal stuck in the pad or even a Pad defect. The car is new so there is no way an abject could get between the pad and disc that would cause that much damage. Its not like the score is over a hole where a bit of grit or something could get lodged. Its almost at the top of the disc. So there is no clearance for any foreign object to get in between once the Calipers have been fitted. It could only have happened whilst being put together at the factory. IMO anyway.
Whatever, the calipers will have to be removed and the pads checked and replaced. If worst comes to the worst I dont think the discs are knacked. Thats ok if the car is old and you replaced the pads and discs. But the car is new.Are you willing to except scored discs. If like me, probably not.
Hope the dealer sorts it. I cant see why not

I'm 99.9% certain now that it was the loose surface i had just driven over. The couple of times after when i pressed the brakes it felt strange. Funnily enough after i put it in reverse and used the brakes it seems ok now. Chris insists i pop it in anyway and if at worst it needs a disc he will apply some goodwill to it Definitely back to the dealer then.
