Hi

Just returned from Snetterton, what a great day. Lots of racing cars testing apart from one numpty in a BMW, it was the most pleasant day, great Chai and Coffee, very easy and friendly team, Top marks for the racing line team.

Nice to see a couple of MG's including another MGC driven by an inspiring guy with a gear stick attached to to his arm, Awsome !!!!! and a MGB first time out to shaking down his car for the weekend

PS not my car , but yes my sister in law at her first track day

I too thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was my first ever trackday, at the beginning of the day there were a few sniggers at my car but by lunchtime id showed them what my mighty citroen was capable of. At one point a few people were looking over as we drove past in the pits and I overheard one lad say "that things actually pretty quick" biggrin Was super fun even if my brakes/clutch and tires didn't think so! (sorry to anyone towards the end of the day, my brake pedal was going straight to the floor so braking was "interesting"!)

Oh and that fezzer was beautiful, shame it and the DBS weren't out on track.

You mean this one or the rag top.

I love the little boy racer types going round on three wheels! (very small snigger) have respect for anyone going round on bicycle tyres.

Just wish 40 year old brakes worked !

I didn't know there was a rag top as well. Yea you can't beat going round on 3 wheels biggrin And if you thought your brakes were bad you should have tried mine!

P.s. Didn't realise that was your MG. Very nice piece of kit if i do say so smile

Its the first time I've seen mine smoking . Good job I changed the fluid a couple of days ago. Yep some nice cars there today even if they did stay i the carpark! did see one Aston on track what a beautiful sound.

This Alfa was unusual as well as a TVR Griffith which did not last long

I thought racing line did a cracking job or organising the day. MSV were calling people in, me included for kicking up dust. Track had zero grip yesterday, the new tarmac was yet to bed in and it was very dusty. Catch 22 really, but racing line were spot on. Saw a couple of you out there. Even managed to get called to clerk of the course when I trundled past the C2 on the slow down red flag lap on revit straight near the end of the day. Was only doing 60.... again, MSV, not RL. Was advised there could of been marshalls on track, fair enough, but I was doing half speed on the longest straight in the country when there were no marshalls out. Took a wrist slap.

Good day though. Thanks RL. Will recommend. 7 minute video briefings are the way to go.

Yeah was a very good day, found it slightly intimidating just how many full on race cars were there compared to a normal track day and how quick they were by comparison, but everyone’s driving was very fair.
Was slightly taken back by how fast the opening sighting laps were (doing 110mph trying to keep up when you don’t know which way the next turn is, is quite scary), otherwise the day was very well ran and staff were very friendly.
Agreed with how hard it was on brakes; despite fitting track pads and higher temp brake fluid, by 3.45pm I had boiled my brake fluid and melted the pads so had to call it a day early.

Glad you all enjoyed it smile

I noticed how fast the sighting laps were, too! I think Warbie likes my M3!

The Snetterton staff were very anxious not to let people over the kerbs, as the tiny amount of rain means the grass isn't growing! Apparently ten's of thousands of pounds of grass seed has been laid down, but no greenery! Visions of a Jonathan Palmer jumping up and down every time a car makes dust are filling my head! ....and that ain't good biggrin

See at the next one smile

Ah yea i saw they called you up for that. Sorry about that, was trundling along as it was a red flag and didn't think it would be a problem you passing me at about 5mph faster. Sorry if i held you up in the corners, understeer was pretty epic! And agree, the breifing was great and the sighting laps were pretty fast (not a problem biggrin)

smile No, wasn't a problem and anyway, it was a track day not a test. TD drivers were always courteous and I think the racers I saw were the same. How it should be. Anyway, there was a tonne of space pretty much but not that many clear laps, guess the R300 is a bit quick smile For me it was still useful day.
