With the sun shining early on Sunday morning and the draw of free track sessions, 100 keen PHers descended on Donington Park for our Sunday Service at the Fast Car Festival.
Thanks for making it along!
The main paddock was full of octane-fuelled attractions, with an eclectic array of modified metal, supercars, drifting displays, pumping bass and race simulators. Meanwhile in the centre of the circuit, PH members were able to enjoy a secluded tree lined area and an excellent viewpoint looking out over the Craner Curves for the track action running all day.
It wasn't all slammed rat rods and modified one-offs; there was a fine collection of old Japanese motors including a stunning Datsun 240Z, a small group of Ford GT40 replicas that looked superb out on track, and an Aston Martin Vulcan that the owner was more than happy for drooling onlookers to sit in. Well done that man!
Back in the PH area, it was great to see so many familiar faces and we never get bored of seeing your immaculately prepared cars. Personal favourites were Brad-vk5qe's Liquid Yellow R26 Megane and Zoobeef's Noble M12. Thank you to Fast Car for having us along, and to everyone who made the effort to join us and make the most of the free track sessions. Especially to the members that provided their cars to be on display for the whole weekend in the main festival, which was in truth a bit of a disaster for various reasons. Sorry about that, there have been many lessons learnt for future events when we run a show-within-a-show.
Our resident photographer Chris Teagles was catching the action track side, so check out his photographs here.
Naturally, everyone is already talking about it in the forums, so catch up here. Our next Sunday Service to include track sessions will be at Silverstone on the October 23, so make sure you put it in your diary - more details soon!
