Spedeworth International hosts a night of automotive anarchy with the National Bangers Figure of Eight 2004 Championship of the World at Wimbledon Stadium this Sunday (25th April).
The action commences at 6pm when the top Banger drivers from the UK and Europe drive their cars to total destruction on the Figure 8 Circuit in pursuit of the title and over £1000 in prize money.
The 2004 Figure Eight World Final is open to “unlimited over 1800cc cars,” allowing the drivers to field some very serious iron on the night. The field usually comprises of big Ford saloons and estates, plus a pride of Jaguar’s big cats and assorted full-size European cars. However, the drivers always like to produce a spectacular car for the finals so spectators may expect to see some cars not normally associated with racing, let alone the rigours of Figure of 8 Banger racing, hit the track.
Whatever cars they are using the drivers’ skill and sheer courage will be put to the test as the big Bangers charge around the track and then cross each other’s paths in the middle of the circuit, with near misses and inevitable metal twisting crashes following one after the after.
Figure of Eight racing is not for faint-hearted drivers or spectators, but it provides some of the most thrilling racing on the short circuit scene. Add to that the fact that qualifying for the title race takes place on the night and the stage is set for some classic no-holds barred Banger racing at Wimbledon Stadium!
