It took Ford until the Focus was 18 years old to introduce a four-wheel drive RS version. When it was no longer a WRC car, a point not lost on some fans. But it has never made a rear-wheel drive Focus, and likely never will, because - let's face it - demand wouldn't be all that high. Still, this PHer wanted one, and just look at what he's created.
'Cochyn' sums up his build thus: "Best thing you can do to a Sierra Cosworth, throw the running gear into a Focus." So the legendary YB engine is here, of course, although running an uprated state of tune with the best part of 400hp. Power reaches the road via a Mk3 Toyota Supra LSD, with suspension via coilovers and a WRC-style adjustable (and rose jointed) rear beam. Naturally the brakes are upgraded just a tad, too, with larger wheels to cover them.
Perhaps the most appealing part of Cocyn's Focus Cosworth, however, is the unassuming nature of it. Sure, it looks slightly modified, but you would never guess the true extent of what's happened underneath. Much like the Focus estate sleeper we featured a couple of years back, the extremely subtle look makes the car even cooler.
This Focus is getting some proper use, too, venturing out to the Nurburgring for what must have been an incredible trip. The original poster is even hinting at bringing it to one or two PH meets this year... We'd love to see it!
