You may remember from our first go in a Steeda Mustang that the brand's creations are a breath of fresh air when it comes to tuned Americana. The Miami firm focusses attention on improving handling and driveability, rather than pursuing headline grabbing power outputs, as illustrated by the Q500 Enforcer Matt drove two years back. A retuned V8 and adjustable coilovers were enough to significantly enhance the base product.
Which isn't to say that Steeda has turned its back on horsepower as a means to an end. The east coast workshop produced the Q750 StreetFighter in 2017, a 760hp (750 American horses) version of Ford's facelifted Mustang that uses a Whipple Stage 2 Supercharger to achieve its 300hp plus gain. With the kit, the 5.0-litre Coyote produces 620lb ft of torque, too, so it's up there with the Shelby's bored-out and 'charged GT500.
Still, power is only part of the equation. Steeda set about modifying the chassis and suspension setup, with in-house developed coilovers, anti-roll bars with welded-in billet ends and stiffer bushes, while additional subframe bracing, new vertical suspension links and bespoke geometry makes the most of the new hardware. There are also stiffer engine mounts and uprated drive shafts to handle the additional shove, while a freer-flowing exhaust ensures a suitably manic soundtrack. But what sets it apart is how far-reaching the work is.
Steeda operates on the exterior, too, with 20-inch Velgen alloys wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber, a new front splitter and ducktail rear spoiler. Suffice it to say it looks as purposeful as it sounds and literally is, but as far as aftermarket Mustangs go (and even compared to the production GT500), it remains vaguely discreet. Which sort of goes with that Steeda philosophy of creating something cohesive rather than conspicuous for its own sake.
Of course you'll still need a conspicuous chunk of change to play - but there's a kicker. Today's Spotted is the same Q750 we drove. You might imagine that a car to have been used as demo model for a new high-performance offering will have been driven to within an inch of its life. But PH has sampled first-hand the quality of Steeda engineering and presumably the car has been well looked after for most of its £11,732 miles.
Better still though, it's been a UK-spec car from day one, which means it's in right-hand drive - and a manual to boot. Also, it's not just the only Steeda Q750 in Britain, but the only one in Europe. Which is quite a lot of exclusivity for £50k.
