The Mazda RX-8, it seems like it's been around for ages, but it appears there's life in it yet as Mazda release details of its latest botox injection re vamp.
Exterior wise the front end gets a new bumper as does the rear adding larger air intakes, new alloys are also on the list of revised kit along with a larger bore twin exhaust.
It's not all show though, the Mazda engineers have been busy tweaking the ride too. The body structure has been reinforced along with the suspension and the rear chassis geometry has been adjusted for better stability. The final drive ratio has been lowered for stronger acceleration too.
If that’s not enough for you, you may like the sound of the RX-8 R3 which gets Bilstein shock absorbers, a more aggressive body kit (shown in the pictures below), 19 inch wheels with track rubber and Recaro seats although sadly the power remains unchanged from the standard car.
Both the new look car and R3 will be available in autumn 2008.
