An apology first off - we know that many of you faced quite a wait to get in to Mercedes-Benz World on Sunday morning. As we attempt to cut down on the amount of people signing up for Sunday Services and then not attending, we are having to be more stringent on checking people in. With just James doing this - and yours truly trying to provide moral support - it was a rather time consuming process. Sorry about this, rest assured we are doing everything possible to alleviate it for the next Sunday Service.
Hopefully you will agree that, once in, the event was a lot of fun. The array of cars was as diverse as ever - from Lamborghini to Lancia and Ford to Ferrari. Brooklands also seemed to play host to a large percentage of the UK's Cayman GT4s, which is always nice to see. Sapphire Blue looked especially good on a fairly grey morning.
But nothing typified a Sunday Service better than the first two cars in the queue; where else would you see an Ariel Nomad and an Audi RS6 arriving for the same meet? Other gems parked up on the straight included an Escort van, a 458 Speciale and a few lovely Lotuses.
Despite the cold, the AMG passenger ride queue was well populated and the air was filled with the sound of V8s and the smell of burnt rubber. Nothing like a 500hp wake up on a Sunday morning!
Those wishing to escape the cold found plenty to enjoy inside Mercedes-Benz World, with dozens of significant models from the brand's history to pore over. That and the hot drinks available ensured it was always busy inside too.
So thanks all for your attendance and patience at the weekend; we hope you enjoyed the morning. Our next Sunday Service is our drag racing extravaganza at Santa Pod on April 3. We still have spaces available if you would like to come along, so get signed up here. See you then!
