Since when did rich playboys driving supercars around city centres become 'a thing'? Essentially since mainstream media like the Daily Mail and Channel 4 with its 'Millionaire Boy Racers' elevated the time honoured practice of driving slowly in expensive cars, making lots of noise and general attention seeking behaviour into something apparently newsworthy.
We'll leave the clickbait stories for those in thrall to how rich blokes spend their free time in London and crack on with driving them on race tracks. But that's not to say PHers aren't enjoying discussion of the phenomenon now apparently known as Supercar Season.
Opinions are mixed too, PHer p1stonhead describing the participants as "vapid and narcissistic" while others seem to take a more innocent pleasure in seeing exotica out to play. "I think it's great," says Delta0. "I wouldn't drive one around London but nice to see them when walking around London."
Where do you stand? Join the conversation here or take a look at the long-running 'Supercars spotted, some rarities' thread. Us? We've got a bright green McLaren coming on Friday. On reflection an early start and blast across the Welsh mountains appeals rather more than low-speed posing for the cameraphones in Knightsbridge. Each to their own and all that.
