Aston Martin Racing will use the screaming, wailing, V12 wonder that is the Aston Martin DBR1-2 LMP1 racing car to compete the remaining three rounds of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup (ILMC), while the new straight-six AMR-One programme 'continues to undergo review'
The swoopy coupe, which makes use of Aston's awesome 6.0-litre V12 (and which took a fourth place finish at the 24 hours of Le Mans in 2009, making it the fastest of the petrol-engined cars)
The single-car entry will take the place of the straight-six open-cockpit AMR-One, which had such an unfortunate time of it at Le Mans.
Aston Martin isn't saying as much, but we do wonder whether the V12 coupe is being wheeled back out to appease fulfil sponsors' requirements.
Whatever the reason, we must say we're glad to see the old girl out again, because that V12 shriek is truly an aural delight - if a car could win a race simply by sounding fast, this Aston would never lose...
