If you bought an Aston Martin V8 Vantage with the aim of selling it at a profit before prices dropped below list -- you're too late. There are dozens of low-mileage cars on Auto Trader with one selling at £74,950 -- well below list price.
Volumes are the reason, as AM starts to catch up with demand. As a result, waiting times for new cars are said to be down from 12 months to around five, according to one report, and as low as three months according to discussions on the Aston Martin Owner's Club forum. It's reported that every car built after production resumes in September, following a summer break, will be designated as a 2007 model year.
As ever, the spec has to be right if a car is to shift in this environment. Big wheels, top-spec audio and xenons, along with an integrated phone system are all essential add-ons. And keep the colours muted if you want to sell it at some point.
