TVR specialists Austec Racing has recently invested in a Pro-Cut brake disc skimming lathe.
The Crawley-based company says the device skims scratched or worn brake discs restoring the surface to working order. It's a much cheaper option than replacing discs, particularly on cars with large brakes such as Cerberas and Tuscans. It works with plain, grooved or drilled discs. The device also aligns the disc with the hub - removing the annoying judder than can result from older or misaligned braking systems.
