Of course there's little real need for Jaguar to be
doing more PR stunts
E-Pace
barrel roll not that far back and the I-Pace
one make race series
announced in Frankfurt. But it wouldn't be a Jaguar - or a Land Rover - launch without some kind of shenanigans, so here we are with an
XF Sportbrake
and a skier in the Arctic Circle.
"Hang on, where's he gone?"
The point? To set a new record for the fastest towed speed on skis. Obviously. While the spectacle of Graham Bell doing 117mph on a frozen lake with two planks on his feet is the main draw, there is a link to the road car here. No, honest. High-speed stability is one, the traction afforded by all-wheel drive another and, presumably, a sturdy tow bar as well. Hopefully the heated seat was good for minus 28 degrees as well...
And that's kind of it, really. Big Jag estate tows man to 117mph on skis to remind us all there's a big Jag estate on sale soon. First drive coming imminently!
