There wouldn't be a great deal else on PistonHeads if we featured every new paint option introduced by car makers. Still, some are rather more appealing than others, aren't they?
Just like the UK. With the wheel on the wrong side
See exhibit a, the Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition. In the JPS black and gold livery - alright, without the actual cigarette bit - made famous by the Lotus 72, 79 and 98T during the 70s, this Sport 410 looks pretty damn fabulous. And it seemed worth sharing.
This paint scheme is in fact a new option for Sport 410s heading to North America, with customers out there now able to order the fastest Evora yet.
To all intents and purposes the Sport 410 for American customers is the same as you would buy in the UK, with the same weight saving measures and increased performance. While American buyers may not actually know where Norfolk is, hopefully they will be aware of just what a great sports car the Evora is. Might just make an interesting Corvette comparison...
Of course this had to be brought out
Oddly Lotus says the actual GP Edition car is limited to five units, "designed to illustrate what can be achieved through the Lotus Exclusive programme", yet the car overall is described as available "in the new GP Edition colour scheme, as well as Lotus's standard array of paint options." It shouldn't be too hard to have black and gold for your Evora, by the sounds of it. And who wouldn't want that?
Jean-Marc Gales said of the Sport 410 heading to America: "The reaction to the Evora Sport 410 since its debut in Europe and Asia has been exceptional, and we know that our American and Canadian customers will really appreciate what this Lotus is capable of." Let's hope so! For Lotus customers out there the 410 will cost $104,200 excluding taxes or $110,000 as a GP Edition. Appropriately enough, a 911 Carrera S in the US is about $100K too. The battle continues!
