PistonHeads has been mightily impressed with the Alpine A110 so far, both Matt Prior's original first drive and Nic's UK follow-up gushing with praise. Suffice it to say expectations for a right-hand drive car in the UK are extremely high. And today comes the news of exactly what it'll cost for the privilege.
£46,905 is the entry figure, the price of an A110 Pure. That's the model that can sneak in under 1,100kg, with 17-inch wheels as standard and lightweight Sabelt seats. On the Pure extras list are Brembo brakes (£936), a sports exhaust (£1,380), two different designs of 18-inch wheel (£936 or £1,656), a more luxurious seat option (£1,380), two audio upgrades (£552/£1,104) and park assist (£1,140). It seems unlikely then that many Pure A110s will remain at £46,905, though it should be said that many rivals don't leave the showroom at list price either.
Speaking of which, £47k places the A110 Pure squarely against a Cup 250 Elise (£46,500) but beyond a basic Porsche Cayman - the 300hp 2.0-litre version starts at £42,897.
For those after a more luxurious mid-engined sports car, the A110 Legende promises "a more sophisticated and refined" experience than either Pure or Premiere versions. To that end it receives much of what is optional on the Pure, including the fancier seats, a better stereo, its own design of 18-inch wheel and the parking sensors with cameras. The price? £50,805, bringing the more powerful Cayman S (£51,853) and Alfa 4C (£52,835) into consideration.
Both models use the same 252hp 1.8-litre turbo as seen in the Premiere, and will be offered in a choice of five cost-option colours; the trademark Alpine Blue is £1,656, with Deep Black that was also offered on the Premiere costing £780. For these new models Alpine has introduced three new shades: Abyss Blue (£780), Thunder Grey (£780) and Iridescent White, which is £1,656.
Orders are being taken now, either via the Alpine app or through the dealer, and deliveries are due this summer. Would the A110 be your £50k sports car of choice?
