After an image appeared in yesterday’s Sunday Times, more pictures have emerged on Czech motoring website

of Lamborghini’s Geneva showstopper, the Veneno.
It’s being produced to commemorate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, and you have to hand it to the Italians – they certainly know how to celebrate. Where Aston Martin applied a new set of paint finishes and a smattering of extra spec to its range for its 100th birthday earlier this year, Lamborghini’s gone all-out and given us a whole new car. And what a car it’s set to be. Built on an Aventador platform, the Veneno looks likely to be built from a selection of high-tech materials. Power, it’s suggested, will come from a 6.5-litre V12 endowed with 740hp, and matched to a seven-speed robotised manual gearbox.
And if you thought the McLaren P1 and Ferrari F150 (whose parade the Veneno will well and truly rain on, not coincidentally) were going to be exclusive, you ain’t seen nothing yet. Only three Venenos will be produced, and all have reportedly already been sold, for the rumoured asking price of just over £3 million. Sorry about that. Still, you can always get hold of a nearly-new Aventador for £278,000 these days. Pocket money, by comparison.
More details on the Veneno as we get them.
