Our Reader's Car of the Week is this painfully cool Lancia Montecarlo. Having cost the owner, Kevin-sz0nv, £4,000 a couple of years back, he has since put roughly the same amount into restoring the car to its former glory. Having had an engine rebuild shortly before he took ownership, it seems to have already been mechanically sound. But, obviously not one to cut corners, he has since also treated it to a complete respray - in the original colour of course - and a new leather interior including the dash, headlining, rear bulkhead, door panels and seats.
All in all, £8,000 for a Pininfarina designed, mid-engined, Italian sports car sounds like a bargain to us! And with only 2,203 coupes ever built and an, admittedly tenuous, connection to the legendary 037 rally car, the Lancia Montecarlo is certainly worthy of preservation.
With prices now hovering around the £20,000 mark, putting his money on the Montecarlo certainly looks to have been a good bet for this PHer. Congratulations Kevin-sz0nv, your Lancia MonteCarlo is our Reader's Car Of The Week. Read all about it here!
