Never let it be said that PHers aren't a committed bunch. Take 'theclutch' as an example; with heart set on an Audi R8 this year - having missed out on 911 Turbos and Z4 M Coupes at auction - the classifieds came calling. But then so did the lockdown. An R8 that ticked all the boxes was found - a manual V8 with the magnetic dampers and the Bang & Olufsen sound upgrade - but it was in Scotland. Our desperate PHer was not in Scotland - so what to do?
After a series of phone call negotiations, a deposit was paid unseen and the R8 could be delivered; all our reader had to do was get to a service station for the handover. Where there's a will there's a way, especially when it comes to buying a dream car!
Handily, all went to plan, and the R8 is already making a favourable impression. Given it has replaced a Lotus Exige, that sounds like an auspicious start. Future plans include driving, detailing, and potentially an interior retrim. Then, given how things are going thus far, probably more driving. And who can blame them? Top work that PHer!
