Porsche has joined the trend for Black Editions with its new Taycan and Cayenne models. While not only available in black like some - plenty of colours are offered, up to and including Paint To Sample - the new Taycan and Cayenne models are marked out by black accents.
For the Taycan, that means mirrors, window trims and model designation, with a black interior and black brushed (but illuminated) door sill guards as well. The big battery introduced earlier this year is included. For the Cayenne equivalent, standard kit includes the Sport Design front apron, then black mirrors, logos and model designations. There’s extra equipment thrown into these new models as well, meaning all the Taycan and Cayenne BEs get 21-inch wheels, Bose sound, Comfort Seats, black smooth leather and HD Matrix LED lights.
Black Edition spec also opens these Porsches to new options (of course), including an extended Black Edition package to really force home the point. All these Cayennes and Taycans can be sent to Sonderwunsch for special request as well. Porsche suggests this could include ‘the reversible luggage compartment mat, the floor mats, the vehicle documentation folder, the lid of the storage compartment in the centre console’, that sort of thing. They’re probably not talking a full GT1 tribute.
The Black Edition can be had for hatch and Sport Turismo Taycans, plus SUV and Coupe Cayennes. Engine choice is standard V6 Cayenne, then the E-Hybrid and S E-Hybrid, alongside standard Taycan and the 4S. Prices kick off at £88,900 for the Cayenne, £95,700 for the Taycan, with the most expensive Black Editions of both costing £109,400 and £103,200 respectively. They’re being debuted at FOS, though we’ll let you off perhaps seeing other stuff first. First deliveries are due later this year.
