Yes, there are people out there who think the Lamborghini Urus lacks aggression. Both aesthetically and in terms of what’s under the bonnet. Abt and Novitech launched suitably ramped up takes on the Italian heavyweight last year to appease these crazies, but Miami’s 1016 Industries has them both trumped for madness with its new-for-2020 product. Meet the 840hp widebody-kitted Urus, which costs $350,000, or about £268k, including the donor Lambo that’s held somewhere between those thick arches.
With 1016’s new suspension and split wheels, the Urus’s front track has grown by 87mm and the rear’s wider by 100mm. It’s now 2.1 metres wide. The 2.2-tonne machine sits lower, too, with extended front and rear forged carbon fibre appendages to satisfy those who just couldn’t be seen in a car as subtle as a standard Urus. The cabin’s been given similarly brash alterations, with this demo’s interior wrapped in red leather and gaining more forged carbon. It’s certainly striking.
The work continues under the bonnet, with two stages of upgrades offered by 1016, the first unleashing 780hp and the second turning the twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 to 840hp. That’s barely short of a Fiesta ST’s worth of punch added, enabling – according to 1016 – a quarter mile drag strip time of 11 seconds. All without physically changing anything within the engine bay; the mods are all of the ECU software kind. The tuner reckons these “non-invasive” upgrades have no impact on the standard Lambo factory warranty…
If this all sounds hunky-dory to you, just 50 of the full upgrade kits are to be sold, so we wouldn’t hold onto your dollars. But 1016 is also selling the widebody kit separately, with prices for that starting at a cool $45,000, or about £34k. Stance doesn’t come cheap in Urus world, apparently.
