It probably won't have escaped your attention that this weekend is the weekend of the Nurburgring 24-Hour, that barmy and brilliant race that sees dozens of cars battle for glory on the Nordschleife. It promises to be a fantastic race.
So to get us in the mood, a new Nurburgring desktop wallpaper from yesteryear. A simpler time, when the only photographers were professionals and images were committed to film rather than stored on a memory card. Actually that latter point sounds far more complicated than today, but let's not dilute the romanticism - we think this is cool.
It's N24 from 1999 - look how empty that stand is! - with an Escort Cosworth and R33 Skyline GT-R appearing to approach the Valvoline Curve/Ford Curve chicane. Pretty cool already, and they're Falken teammates! The turquoise and blue has always made for a distinctive livery - it will be on an M6 this weekend - and here is no different; the Skyline in particular looks absolutely fantastic. Also it would appear to be ever so slightly oversteering on the entry to this corner, because why wouldn't you be backing in a GT-R at the 24 Hours? Excellent stuff.
While we won't see Falken Cossies at the 'ring this weekend, it should be another fantastic event. Stay tuned to the PH social channels for regular updates!
