Matt found the Proteus C-Type recreation really hit the sweet spot when he drove it recently. "It draws positive attention like the very rarest and coveted modern supercars, yet drives with the honest, transparent charm of a classic brought just sufficiently up to date, with the gearbox and brakes most notable. And starts on the button, every single time" he said.
PHer reception was overwhelming positive too, but whether or not you'd consider spending your own money on a modern replica, there's one side of the C-Type it's impossible not to admire: its looks. That's because they're a mirror image of Malcom Sayer's original design, of course, duplicating the elegant, swooping lines and muscular, purposeful stance perfectly. What's not to like?
Our Pic of the Week shows the car at its timeless best, under blue skies and atop England's countryside. It's fair to say the Proteus brightened up our summer; here's hoping it does the same for your desktop...
