It may have flown slightly under the radar - or perhaps just passed over our heads - but this week saw the launch of Aston Martin Wings, a series which brings all of the luxury marque's aviation projects together for the first time.
'Aston Martin has aviation projects?!' You might justifiably exclaim. Well, yes and no. Aston may have recently branched out into bikes and boats, but it isn't working on anything that'll actually take flight just yet. Rather the name is a reference to the company's many aviation themed models, as well as to its close ties with the RAF and the location of three of its four UK manufacturing locations on former RAF stations.
In announcing Wings, Aston has confirmed that its Q division will be delivering further special-edition models "inspired by aviation" to sit alongside the likes of the Vanquish S Red Arrows edition, V8 Vantage S Blades Edition and V12 Vantage S "Spitfire 80". For the purposes of POTW, though, what it means is that the marque has re-release some of the press photography from the launches of those limited-run cars. Photography which would look right at home on your desktop background.
